If you have any questions that are not answered here, please contact support.
New Balance Reconsidered is a platform where you can purchase New Balance products that have either been worn or are unsellable as brand new for cosmetic reasons. These products have all been inspected by trained technicians who will clean (if needed) to make them available for online purchase at a discount. Archive is the provider who operates the website.
Our products come from returns that have been inspected and cleaned (if needed), as well as from the trade-in program through New Balance Reconsidered. Products will be sold in Like New, Excellent or Good conditions:
Like New: Item is “like new” with no apparent signs of wear.
Excellent: Item is in excellent condition and may have faint signs of wear.
Good: Item is in good condition and may have signs of wear.
You’re purchasing a refurbished item directly from New Balance. Our Reconsidered team, powered by Archive, is here to answer any questions you have.
No. The New Balance Reconsidered program is not currently available to buyers anywhere outside of the continental US, Hawaii and Alaska. Unfortunately, we cannot ship to freight forwarders, P.O. boxes, AA, AE or AP addresses.
Once you have received your order, please look it over carefully and ensure it is as described. If you have any concerns, please contact our New Balance Reconsidered customer support team.

If your item arrives damaged or in a different condition to how it was described in the listing, you can request a refund. You can do this by visiting the returns page to explain the issue and send us a few photos. If the New Balance Reconsidered customer support team is able to verify that the item has been misrepresented, we will email you a shipping label to return it.
Yes, we have a 45-day return policy. Items marked as ‘final sale’ are not eligible for return. Please note the return shipping fee is $7.50 and will be deducted from your overall refund amount.
New Balance does not guarantee the existence or quality of the items advertised. However, your purchases are protected when you shop with New Balance Reconsidered. We will refund you if your item never ships or has been misrepresented.
You will not be able to resell your item directly on the New Balance Reconsidered site but you can always trade in your used New Balance footwear to our participating retail stores or mail it in to receive a trade-in voucher for accepted items. Clothing and accessories are not available for trade in at this time. As part of our commitment to circularity, accepted items will be washed, and resold through New Balance Reconsidered or donated to Soles4Souls, a non-profit organization that turns shoes and clothing into opportunities for education and employment.
State and local sales tax will be charged on items based on your zip code.
We reserve the right to hold any order suspected of fraud. If you have any questions, please contact our New Balance Reconsidered customer support team.
We are only accepting men’s and women’s footwear at this time. We are not accepting clothing, accessories or any type of collaboration product. Item must be functional, clean, and still in wearable condition. We will not accept damaged product (rips, tears, holes), heavily stained or scuffed product, product that has significant treadwear or insole wear, product missing any component(s) (laces, insoles, etc.), product with heavy creasing, or product that has an unreadable or missing label. Learn more about our trade-in guidelines.
If you mail in an item in a condition we do not accept, you will not receive any trade-in voucher. Please note we are not able to return items that are not accepted and will donate them on your behalf to Soles4Souls, a non-profit organization that turns shoes and clothing into opportunities for education and employment.
You can trade in your item at participating New Balance U.S. retail stores or by mailing it in. To trade in your item, you will first need to create a New Balance Reconsidered Account. Note: This is separate and unrelated to a New Balance Account. Please visit the New Balance store locator for a list of participating retail locations or visit our Trade-In page for more information.
Once you have created a New Balance Reconsidered Account and confirmed your trade-in online, you will receive a pre-paid, pre-addressed shipping label via email. Pack your item(s) and attach the label to your package. Bring the package to the nearest UPS location or drop it in your mailbox. Alternatively, you can schedule a UPS package pickup if available in your area.
If your item is accepted for trade-in, you will earn a trade-in voucher based on the original MSRP of the item. The amount could be up to 25% of the original MSRP.
If your item is accepted but the original MSRP cannot be determined, you will earn a trade-in voucher in the amount of $5.
For trade-ins by mail, $7.50 will be deducted from your trade-in voucher to cover the cost of processing, so we encourage you to get into a store for trade-in when possible!
We’ll send you an email with the details of your trade-in voucher and how to use it towards your next New Balance purchase online and at participating U.S. retail locations.
Once your trade-in items are received and verified at the warehouse, you will receive an email with the trade-in voucher you’ve earned. Processing time is about 10 business days between the receipt of your items and the issuance of your trade-in voucher.
The trade-in voucher can be used online at newbalance.com and at participating U.S. retail locations.
The trade-in voucher expires 90 days from the date of issuance.
If your item is not accepted, you will not receive any trade-in voucher. Please note we are not able to return items that are not accepted and will donate them on your behalf to Soles4Souls, a non profit organization that turns shoes and clothing into opportunities for education and employment.
